Glitter storm

Besides "silver thaw," the main name for this weather around here is
"glitter" and what brings it is a "glitter storm." We've had a series of
them for a week now and, although some of the ice is dropping on car roofs
and people's pates, most of it is still there, on trees, houses, wires, and
fences.
