Église en ruines (Église Saint-Étienne-le-Vieux)

Un charme mystérieux se dégage de cette église qui a souffert au fil des siècles, mais elle tire de son histoire douloureuse sa beauté actuelle... Edifiée au Xe s. elle fut détruite une première fois au XIVe s., avant d'être reconstruite; puis encore au XVe s. (siège des Anglais). Pendant la Révolution Française en 1793 elle a été désaffectée, elle n'est jamais rendue au culte et a été utilisée comme dépôt. En 1944 un obus est tombé sur la nef et l'a complèrement détruit. Malgré tout, elle a conservé du XVe s. sa belle tour-lanterne octogonale.

RUINED CHURCH - a mysterious charm emanates from this church which has suffered over the centuries, but it derives its present beauty from its painful history... Built in the 10th C. it was destroyed for the first time in the 14th C., before being rebuilt; again in the 15th C. (siege by the English). During the French Revolution in 1793 it was desecrated and never returned to worship but was used as a storehouse. In 1944 a bomb fell on the nave and completely destroyed it. Despite everything, it has preserved from the 15th C. its beautiful octagonal lantern tower.

ZERSTÖRTE KIRCHE - ein mysteriöser Charme geht von dieser Kirche aus, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte gelitten hat, doch vielleicht kommt ihre gegenwärtige Schönheit aus ihrer schmerzhaften Geschichte... Erbaut im 10. Jh., wurde sie zum 1. Mal im 14. Jh. zerstört, bevor sie wieder aufgebaut wurde; nochmals im 15. Jh. (Belagerung durch die Engländer). Während der Französischen Revolution im Jahr 1793 wurde sie entweiht, und nie wieder zum Gottesdienst zurückgegeben, sondern als Lagerhalle verwendet. 1944 fiel eine Bombe auf das Kirchenschiff und zerstörte es vollständig. Der schöne 8-eckige Tiburio aus dem 15. Jh. ist erhalten geblieben.
