Roiling Clouds and Castle Ruins HFF!


A storm about to break over Kyleakin harbour and the ruins of Castle Moil (Casteal Maol) on the Isle of Skye.
Fragments of a medieval tower are all that remain. Built in the 15th Century by the MacKinnan family, it is thought it may have been built on the site of an earlier structure. Following the death of James V a meeting of the chiefs was held here and it was decided that Sir Donald MacDonald was to become the new Lord of the Isles
Prior to the building of the Skye Bridge the old ferry used to run from Loch Ailsh to Kyleakin
