These low tide pictures are so intriguing for me, Carol. I have never seen this phenomenon so pronounced as to periodically turn a harbour into a mudflat! Also love your diagonal composition and the two characters with the unusual liveries.

This particular coastline has the second highest tidal range in the world and can be up to 15 metres.

Mor often than not when we visit the harbour there is little or no water in it.

In big towns the feral pigeons come in all sorts of colours, so I suppose, here the same!
Maybe in pigeon society those with the ermine robes are seen as superior!

Thank you very much Peter. Where we lived previously we had lots of pigeons that we used to feed and even had a pur white one and a white one with marking like black wings on her back, but I had not seen the 'ermine' markings before.

Thank you very much Marta. We are so used to seeing them that we sometimes forget it is not the same everywhere else! The silt does present a problem to those who berth their boats here and there have recently been dredging trials carried out to see how they can improve things.

Thank you very much Henri. I always shoot in RAW but It was purely f20 which, along with f22 I try to use most of the time for landscapes as the camera is particularly good at dof using these settings.

Brilliant shot Carol! I like the succession of triangles crossing the frame and the light on the landing stage and mud. The presence of the Pidgeon close in the foreground gives a great depth to the image. I love the shadow and light creating different colours of the rather deep looking mud separated by the water channel in the second picture.
