Rockpools and Ripples

Burnham beach at sunset. The tide is out and has left behind rockpools surrounded by rippled sand that looks like a strange, other-wordly landscape. Tinged with gold from the setting sun the still water is patterned by cloud reflections.

Am looking to wear a suit of armour if we go back - those nasty biting insects got to me again and I am on antibiotics for infected bites for the second time in three months!!..and we didn't even get to Scotland - the midges love me up there too!!! Worth putting up with them for the wonderful scenery!

A magical composition across the beach at low tide and sunset, what could be better! The light and reflections of the warm sky in the pool of water are beautiful and the ripples on the sand together with the rocks provide a nice contrast to the reflected glow of the sun on the wet smooth areas of beach. Great photography Carol.
