The Sunday Challenge - At The Market

Well I have to say it's been another of those week's where I've been somewhat intimidated by the challenge theme, but as the week's gone on I've felt I've risen to it somewhat.

I really didn't like the idea of taking photos in shops or of people, but I ended up doing both albeit I got asked to leave one shop after I think I'd outstayed my welcome.

Anyway, in the end I've opted to submit this shot to The Sunday Challenge as for me it summed up the feeling of a local summer market best.

No doubt I'll post a few of the others in the new NOT The Sunday Challenge group as there were quite a few shots I liked.

I had a contact (member of TSC on the other side) that was a great source of information regarding my pictures ... he is the one that got me to think outside the box. One of the hints he gave me was to look for textures in setting up a photograph and to look for it in other images as it is probably one the reasons one is drawn to the image,especially if it is contrast to something crisp, sharp or soft. :)

mmMm our strawberries are trucked in, probably from mexico... they taste like something from the woodpile at any time of the year. Probably because they are picked green to survive the long road trip up here.

It was a small store with lots of ornaments and it was starting to get busy. I think it was just a case of outstaying my welcome as she's been happy enough to let me take photos when I asked at first.

Either that or it was because shortly before that I went to take one with her and some customers in it and she said she'd rather I didn't do that.

No complaints from me though as she was happy to let me take what I'd done up to that point and I got a few really nice shots. :)
