Bergsbotn

Bergsfjorden on the west coast of Senja seen from one of the spectacular viewpoints of "Nasjonale Turistveger". Senja is Norway's second largest island with an area of 1 589,35 km² and lies 350km north of the Polar circle. This photo was taken at 2.30 pm, in late autumn the days were rapidly getting shorter.

Senja ist Norwegens zweitgrößte Insel mit einer Fläche von 1 589,35 km² und liegt 350km nördklich des Polarkreises. Das Foto ist nachmittags um halb 3 aufgenommen, im Spätherbst wurden die Tage sehr schnell kürzer.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! Well, it's difficult with too many photos in archives and some groups like TSC which require new photos;-) If you upload more photos than one a day most only look at the first one so I restrict myself to only one.

Excellent!!!
I too normally restrict myself to one upload a day, Gudrun, but changed tack recently when I realised my archive stuff was being released too slowly, especially with new material to post. So I now post 3, or occasionally more. Soon I should be able to get back to one a day from the archves, together with new stuff!

Thank you, Mario! It is the last of the afternoon sun, at only 2.30 pm. One month later there would be no sun at all (polar night) and in mid summer it doesn't get dark.

Danke vielmals, Uwe! Durch das Licht sieht man die Strömungen im Fjord-) Die Westküste hier ist dem Wind ausgesetzt, da kommt bis Grönland nichts mehr, deswegen sieht's so karg aus. Im Inselinneren hat es Birkenwälder und die Ostküste ist Weideland.
