Colour for a day of greyness
A photo from my archives, taken on 4 October 2011 in the gardens at the Calgary Zoo. It feels good to remember how beautiful these flowers were. It will take the Zoo many years to recover from the devastating Flood of the Century late in May. So heartbreaking for all the staff and volunteers who put in so much time and effort to provide us with such a great place to enjoy.

We are under a Lightning Alert and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning this evening. So far, there has been no rain in my area, but some areas were supposed to get hail. Ha, spoke too soon - here comes the rain!

Excellent shot angle Anne and superb POV ... lovely rich colours too!! An outstanding macro and well presented too ... so far, the weather is stable here and it cooled down nicely ... all windows and doors opened during the day and night ... so what is new in Alberta ... always crazy weather patterns ...
