Show-off in the forest

These fungi are just so bright and colourful and I was happy to have this one pointed out to me yesterday, 21 July 2013 - a birding outing to Bow Valley Provincial Park, which lies at the foot of the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, westwards from Calgary. This is a species of Leccinum - Leccinum boreale is the provincial mushroom of Alberta : ) However, many of the Leccinum species can only be differentiated microscopically (thanks, Doug!), so I can't go further than "Leccinum species". Found along the trail from the parking lot to the start of the Flowing Waters trail.
