Trying to beat our deep-freeze

Don't you wish you could just hold out your hands and be able to soak up "warmth" from this glowing Poppy, lol? Seen at Reader Rock Garden on July 14th. Sending warm wishes to all those of you who are experiencing bitter cold temperatures. Here in Calgary, our deep-freeze continues. It's -22C this afternoon, and I would imagine the windchill is somewhere around -31C.
I had planned on staying home yet again today, but now the legal stuff connected to my Brother's death has arrived in my Inbox this morning. John had only made a rough draft of his Will, so now things get a little more complicated and I need to go out to get a photocopy of my Passport and a utility bill. Hopefully, I'll be able to get them signed by a lawyer (which I will have to find) and get them faxed over to England next week. Rather wish I hadn't been up till 4:00 this morning, reading websites, trying to get an idea or two for the funeral - now all I feel like doing is falling back into bed. I think I like the idea of making small "memory cards" and pens available to anyone who attends John's service, that would like to write a memory that they have of my brother. Has anyone ever used this idea? These cards can then be sent to me and my family later. If I lived in England myself, I would be able to design and print these cards myself, but I don't, so I know that any suggestion of something like this only gives my good friends in England yet something else to see to. Last night, I was feeling really frustrated and so helpless, being so far away.
