No pleasant Spring foliage yet - or morning frost to enhance this rather bleak snap of Ye' olde' pond along the 'Moss valley' once busy with thriving water powered mills producing scythes and saw blades - a railway and collieries. A four photo stitch via 'Lightroom'...

Leaping over the barbed wire and avoiding the gun towers of 'Lockdown' .. I made an escape into the wild wooded yonder and the golden leaf... of 'Ladybank wood' North East Derbyshire. ''HFF'' to everyone on Ipernity'... keep well and 'Good wishes' - from ... David J'.

A stroll during Spring 2019.. by the lakes at Hardwick hall - Derbyshire.. two lambs come bombing towards me at full speed... they stopped just short of mowing me down. Have a good ''HFF'' and 'good wishes' to everyone.... from ..> David J'.

Ice houses can be found all around the world.. here, a short tunnel takes visitors to the door of the ice house at Hardwick hall.. built by 'Bess Countess of Shrewsbury' 1597. The newly restored gate reads.... ''As the ponds froze in winter - ice was taken from the top and packed into this ice house.. The ice prolonged the life of the food - creating the first refrigerators''

The superb beach at 'Monte gordo' Portugal.. there are finer beach views in Monte gordo .. among the beautiful sand dunes and greenery.. but - today - we needed one with a fence ... A post from 2019 - one year ago.. to the day.... whilst sitting in the early evening sunshine..among the beautiful sand dunes of 'Monte gordo'...a lonely beetle came wandering by - making it's unique trail in the powdery soft fine sands... we followed it's path.. until it met some long and greener growth.. where it disappeared no doubt feeling safer there.

View down a steep embankment at 'Linacre dams' near Chesterfield - Derbyshire..There are 3 reservoirs built between 1855 and 1904 and, between them, they hold more than 240 million gallons of water...which serve the town of Chesterfield itself.. The reservoirs are surrounded by fields and bluebell woods, with several trails for walking - cycling - dog walking and bird watching.

Brodsworth Hall, in South Yorkshire, is one of the most complete surviving examples of a Victorian country house in England. It is virtually unchanged since the 1860s. It was designed in the Italianate style by the London architect, Philip Wilkinson, then 26 years old. He was commissioned by Charles Sabine Augustus Thellusson, who inherited the estate in 1859, but the original estate was constructed in 1791 for Peter Thellusson. The.. 'PiP'.. from the 21st. shows a small part of the superb gardens.

These superbly kept gardens at Brodsworth hall - are always well worth a visit at any time of year. The 'PiP' shows the house from the car park - picnic area.
