Being young, I don't think the aggressive nature had developed yet, so he seemed quite happy to stand there, turning his head from side to side, while I grovelled down in the mud in front of him!

Our swans tend to be hatched in spring, so around 9 months old, I guess. Here is a young one. www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/49379016 but they don't look like swans then, so you must have seen one!!
