They employed the very best structural engineers here. These mines were at the cutting edge of technological innovation and I'm sure that if it had tobe brick for the top of the chimney, there must have been a very sound reason! It would be interesting to know!

I've visited Cornwall several times, even though it's not all that far from me, and these structures and ruins are all over the place. I haven't walked down to inspect it closely though. It's very tall and the building next to it must have been three floors high. Amazing
