Another section that shows it clearly was once a Roman road.

Please see my notes to the earlier posted shot for general info. Again, the paving stones, although much eroded, have been left in place as they were too useful in providing traction on this steep slope.

Only visible as such in a couple of places. Elsewhere the stones for the paving have all been taken for building and walls.

Soldiers and possibly miners. It doesn't seem to have much connection with better known Roman roads and their networks, nor does it seem to link Roman towns. In other words, a mystery!
