Andy Rodker club has replied to Tanja - Loughcrew clubThe National Trust I think! Obviously there was a path here before but very muddy after rain and perhaps impossible then, especially as the path became more and more popular. So I'm sure it was done to stop erosion as well as to make it easier for people, and their dogs!
