The Blob

I believe this formation is called "The Blob" and it is a popular rock climbing location in Joshua Tree National Park (note the climber in the second inset). It is next to the Hidden Valley campground.

RE: my buck photos...I'm glad you were pleased with them! I think I just became too frustrated and so I can only see that they aren't up to what I was hoping for so I'm being overly critical of my processing...MEH! :D
We have two species of Mule deer I believe...and we see lots of them but they're quite skittish since they're hunted every year.
OH YAY, I can't wait to see your Flicker pictures! We have suet in the feeder but so far they haven't seen the goodies...but now that the Juncos are chowing down on it, hopefully the Flickers will follow suit. :)
Bluebird houses?! That's great! I love that you're getting so many visitors. We haven't been feeding the birds lately but when we do, it's a nonstop bird parade!
You had an ice storm? ACK! I hope there wasn't too much damage. I can't wait to see the pictures though, I bet you got countless cool shots...lol 250/250 winners!...the PiPs should be fun to see!! :)
Interesting that our weathers are flip-flopped...you're supposed to be warmer, and we should be having colder weather, but the opposite is true. In fact, Steve is working on our deck in short sleeves on this warm day! It's crazy...it should be 20 degrees cooler.
You are not a patient man...lol...spring won't be here for MONTHS my friend! But I can see your desire to find more orchids! They are so cool, I agree. Finding them is always such a treat. And of course, the hikes to get to them are at least as fun. Looking forward to our adventures too. :)
