Rattlesnakes Mating

After hiking Hidden Valley in Joshua Tree National Park, we were talking to a ranger when someone who had just hiked the same trail came and told us that there was a pair of rattlesnakes mating near the trail. We h8iked back in and found these two Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes going at it and watched them for nearly an hour. Their mating was like a strange hypnotic dance and they were oblivious to the people who were watching.

Three beautiful and interesting images.
@ngélique ❤️ club has replied to Jocelyne Villoing clubAmazing capture!
I expect that you two have recovered from the insanity of Grand Central Station at your house! Hopefully the flu has left the premises too.
You know, it's funny Ron. I was talking to my brother's wife about you today...I was telling her about Joshua Tree and all of the awesome pictures you've shared...isn't it funny that we don't even know each other face-to-face, but we are friends nonetheless. I love that. :)
Please tell your wife that I said Happy New Year, and that my brother's wife also shares condolences about friends putting leaves on mushrooms before she has the chance to see them! LOL, Nathalie thought it was not fair either, but through an understanding giggle...all of that conversation came about because Steve and Nathalie were in front of me on a trail we were hiking in Marin County, and who are they dragging along behind them? Heh... *blush* .... granted they wanted me to take pictures but still, some dragging by the ear is necessary or Janet will never find her way home! :D
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
