Joshua Tree Landscape

Just a few more photos from the Hidden Valley area of Joshua Tree National Park. Later that morning, the second of our visit to the park, we hiked to Wall Street Mill.

Merciiiiiiiii Ron, belle fin de semaine.
Fantastic, Ron!
Thank you for your latest comments, we are a pair, aren't we?! :D
I'm glad you enjoyed my sunrise/sky shots. That first pano with the pink clouds really was something to see. Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Re your walk in the woods. Good that you brought your camera just in case...of course it would have been dancing moose without the camera! And yeah, photography doesn't work too well when you're tired. Creative energy is required! It's funny to look at "tired" pictures...they actually LOOK tired! Boring, uninspired, blah. Don't bother! :D
Well, I can see why you have trouble holding your camera still...if the lens is that heavy, what are you going to do? The 100mm is light enough that I CAN hold it still but anything heavier and I'm out of luck! Looks like my macro lens weigh more than your 18-135, but of course that's not our problem...it's that telephoto...forGET it. We have a 100-300mm and it's a BEAST. I've tried to hold that still a couple of times...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...um, yeah. Right.
If you ever find the desire to do some serious macro, I'd definitely advise you get the IS version of the 100mm...the pictures you get along the trail may ignite a passion you didn't realize was there! Then again, your zoom lens is working out just fine and I sure do know how hard it is to give that up! I'm just stubborn and will not use any other lens unless I'm in a city environment, HAH!
You would find that having a monopod on your camera is something easily forgotten after a while, as it's quite unobtrusive. Something to think about, esp if you're feeling frustrated with shake!
Finally...your cooking is making me drool! :D Sounds lovely!! :) Last night we had tri-tip steak that was sous-vided for two days and was so tender and delicious we could hardly believe it! Once you cook meat this way, you can't go back, it's just amazing.
Hope you have a lovely day!
