Echinocereus mojavensis

These were blooming in the Hidden Valley area of Joshua Tree National Park when we photographed them. They were the most attractive of all the cacti we saw, in or out of bloom.

Thank you for showing us these treasures here ...
Il y a des moments, Ron!
The colors and the shades of that bloom are something to behold !
Superb picture, Ron.
Have a nice weekend.
Thanks for the long comment, it's always a highlight for me to read what you've left for me! :)
Re: edible mushrooms...yeah, better to be safe than sorry. Even morels...we found a bunch, only to discover they were FALSE morels when I looked them up before cooking them. YIPES. We have a bunch of books...enough info to convince me not to take the chance unless I was with someone who's had plenty of success. :)
*waves hello to you and your wife* I am pretty confident we'll meet up in the next year or so. You guys are close enough and we'll be getting our travel trailer sometime soon. So it's something to look forward to. :) That being said, you're completely right about the friends we've made on ipernity who we'll probably never meet and yet, they are our dear friends nonetheless. Happy for us, you and I aren't across the globe so the likelihood of meeting is pretty good! :)
Marvelous reading about the cool things you've seen. The rattlesnakes, the burrowing owls, and the Salton sea itself (what a story that is!). We look forward to adventures of our own, thank you for the added excitement with your tales!
P.S. Oh yeah, and that dork I went out with...lol, I couldn't even believe what a loser he was. MEH!
