I'm trying to catch up to you Gordon :) Yes, just along the road from your stamping grounds and I had no doubts that you would know this tree at first sight. Very happy you liked it, even in this rather flat lighting. I was only up here for some minutes, running around like a mad bloke with a camera who had never seen a tree before, then it was time to head back home with a car full.

They sure do, Herb. I do remember that..and also reflecting at that time on some of our extraordinary Aussie trees that grow out of red rocks in deserts. True survivors indeed!

Yes, it's remarkable how well trees can hang on in unlikely places. The lean of this one certainly indicates the prevailing winds.
