The road to Park Bridge

The road to Park Bridge
A deserted road, once full of vehicles and people, now abandoned makes a nice dry walk for the people of Odham. The road just a 2.4km long goes from near Alexandra Park to the hamlet of Park Bridge. Enjoy the tree shadows from the strong light .

Have a good day.

The length of that road and back would make a perfect daily walk in winter Herb without getting too wet and muddy.

A nicely composed shot. I like the way the road disappears into the distance and the long shadows are very attractive.

Yes a good walk up and down here but we put another section on around the old village and works deep in the valley.

The tree shadows are lovely Herb. I think I would enjoy walking the road, especially in winter! I suppose it has a bypass now then? A very good country road shot.
Cheers, Rosa.

Glad you enjoyed it Rosa. I think this road was built by the council some 70+ years back principally to facilitate a big refuse tip -long since overgrown. Deep in an old valley to the left was a river but long since culverted , now many feet below the flat ground. The road leads to a smaller lane which goes down into Park Bridge. That might have been there many years before the tip to facilitate workers going to the old mills down at Park bridge. So never a by-pass -none needed as it goes in effect nowhere now.

Cheers. Herb
