Seahouses: Gunpowder house

Seahouses: Gunpowder house
We are at Seahouses on the Northumbrian coast looking just south of the main harbour, at a most peculiar building. It is in fact a building built to store gunpowder for the construction of the pier and harbour in 1886. It was placed out here on the rocks away from the village in case of any accidental explosions.
For me, on this rather misty day the colours all harmonise almost as one. Photographically I would normally rather not have left the house in the middle but you might notice the figure on the right balancing things out nicely and in fact along with the red marker it makes for a nice triangle.

Essential full screen. Enjoy your day.

Admirable et excellemment prise. La vue en grand dégage plus de détails aussi importants les un que les autres...

I rarely worry about the "rules" of composition Herb..........the Gunpowder House and rocks are around a third of the way down from the top.......and I think what you've done works perfectly.

I do like the person in shot for some balance........and and the red-topped marker post adds some interest as well. I like the silvery light on the water and the contrast between the rugged rocks and the smooth concrete walk-way.

Haha, indeed rules are made for breaking anyway Keith. Good that you enjoyed all the ingredients here including the involved tones.

Enjoy the weekend. Herb

It's good to know that there were some safety measure in 1886 Herb. The colours certainly do harmonise and the misty atmosphere makes it such a beautiful shot. The figure on the right helps to give it scale. Superb!
Cheers, Rosa.

Life was pretty dangerous in those days without explosives on your doorstep Rosa. Good that you too enjoyed the ingredients and atmosphere in this.

Cheers. Herb

Beautiful soft colours and I'm with Keith about composition "rules". It works well, that's what matters. :-)
