Ring of sheep dance - "after three - put your left leg in-your left leg out..."

Ring of sheep dance - "after three - put your left leg in-your left leg out..."
To bring a smile to our faces in these troubled days!

Seen near Attermire Scar over the town of Settle in the Yorkshire Dales. Being just after winter, food is still scarce for these high hill sheep, so the farmer thankfully comes and lays food out here in a circle so that they all get their fair share. Our walk continues down the green track seen here on the right.
Notice the late comers running to join the dance too.

Keep safe and well.

This is fun! At first I kept looking for a sheep dog, but the food is enough to make them do this;-) I think I in my younger days I walked that path once on my way from Settle to Malham...

Thanks for this. A grand walk for sure even in these very damp and cold conditions. the sheep circle was a bonus that ticked us. Glad it brought a smile to your face.

So glad that it did Rosa. It reminded us of our regular tea-dance. Keep well my friend and I hope you can get out a bit in-spite of everything.

Glad you enjoyed this Toz. Yes, I think, like us you will have walked this route a few times. It was some years back since we were last here doing this one and we had forgotten some of the landmark ways of our route. Walked some distance past Victoria cave before we realised the fact.

Keep good. Herb

We need to carry on smiling in these otherwise gloomy days John. We had our first visitor talk at two metres distance on our door step today. Frightening!

Ha, ha brilliant..!! How much did you have to pay the farmer to get them to pose lit that for you?

A wonderfully comical shot.............as well as a beautifully composed landscape image!

It was expensive indeed Keith. Great that you enjoyed the landscape as well as the dance.

Hi Dave, always good to see you here commenting on my photos with your special humour.

It was my pleasure to have you accompany me, at least photo wise. Yes, who knows how long we will be able to do this. We had perhaps our last Dovestone area 5 mile walk today trying to avoid our fellow man with the C19 stuff. Decorating - things are really that bad!! And yes, the Hokey Cokey is what it is ALL about.

Cheers and keep safe my friend. Herb

Pleased to see this scene :-) I am sure the farmers do try to make shapes sometimes a livestock equivalent to a crop circle
4 years ago.
Herb Riddle club has replied to Colin Ashcroft club
Good that you enjoyed this Colin. It is simply quite simple for the farmer to make food circles on their quad-bikes and I suppose these sheep expect it to be like that now as they flick their legs and bodies in and out :)
