A wonderful view around the harbour and across the rooftops with a beautiful selection of boats too. I'm guessing that most of the buildings along the shore in the background are hotels?

Thanks Keith. A surprise visit here for us, of about 8 hours only. We only had time to do the coach trip to the ruins -you have already seen on here. - We have in fact been here before for part of a day too (our last day of a cruise in 2010) when we walked some of the promenade and castle that you see here. Yes, most of the foreground buildings are hotels and eating places. A particularly interesting set of boats they have here too. Glad you liked it.

I really like this this series from Turkey, and will come back and visit them all properly soon.
At first sight I though this was Bodrum, it has a very similar harbour and castle. Nice to see how the civilisation has evolved the same building styles in its towns, much like our Welsh Castles, I suppose.

Hi Peter, always good to see you here. Good that you have enjoyed my short Turkish series here. I have never visited Bodrum but as you say, I imagine that bigger resorts all have a similarity. I have visited Kuşadası though, which is quite different. I remember walking up to the castle here some years ago and it was fascinating with its many small stalls selling trinkets and lace lining the tiny roads.

Always good to see you on my trips Rosa. You will notice that I walked along the paths of Rhodes only hours after taking these here in Turkey. Marmaris is always worth a visit. Glad you liked this and it brought back memories for you.
