The beast from the East

The beast from the East
It came from Siberia! This was yesterday on a local hilly road, today its too bad for me to go get more like this. Joined in our South West today by Storm Emma, they are having much more snow and wind. It's said that we have not faced a Winter like this for two generations. Ah well -makes for exciting photography though.
-Taken about 40 mins walk from my home.

Sure was Rosalyn. I hear the worst is over now and we can look forward to our usual Spring weather in a week or two -that is to say -cold rain and grey skies!
Cheers, Herb

Hi Fred, you will have had the beast too. Like you, I love snow, especially when it is new, crispy and powdery with preferably a perfect blue sky. Maybe the blue sky will come too? Glad you like this, Herb

Hi Herb,

Another very different fence picture for Friday!

Nice to capture the history, but in all honesty the English can't cope with snow. A few cms, and they panic, cry elf n' safety, and run of home!

Best Wishes, HFF ( a little late), and a Good Weekend!

Thanks Peter, I never thought of HFF when I snapped this. You are right though, a bit of history perhaps. As you know -'our snow is different!' its slippy besides being cold and wet. Our bodies, homes and cars are not built for it as the chap in your photo link is. That being said, I know that there were a lot of folk on our high roads up here, including the M62 who would say that it was even worst up there than it was for the chap in Füsun's shot.
Have a great weekend and again HFF, Herb
