A Salford Quays view

Hi - I had used the whole colour shot for the main picture but have since changed it to this artistic view.

I really like your editing on this one Herb. It draws the eye to the main building. I have never been to Manchester but have seen a lot about the regeneration of Salford. I still love L.S.Lowry's paintings of how that area was. Cheers, Rosa.

Thank you for enjoying this Rosa. Manchester and Salford have certainly grown over the years and what you see here is part of he urban development at Salford Quays which is still ongoing. You can see from the alternative picture just what a difference one can make by tweaking here and there, especially with selective us of colour. You will have also, by now noticed my contribution to L.S Lowry just a few photos on, from this.

I like the partial desaturation, it helps to lead the eye along the canal. A good thing cities are revitalizing their dockside areas!

Excellent................I really like the (near) symmetry in this image. The use of selective colour works very well too. Nice job Herb.

Hi Herb, nice presentation here.

I have a book full of photos of the original Manchester docks and ship canal, not forgetting the Bridgewater canal which fed from the docks..
There is also a whole network of subterranian canals under Manchester if you want to research them!

Another good example of selective colour. The architecture is of the Art Deco style, a good choice for the area.
