Valle Crucis Abbey -The Chapter House.
One can almost imagine the monks in the year of 1201 having their first meeting in here, Now the chiselled stone has gone green with moss but its still pretty impressive.

Hi Herb,

I like this picture very much, especially the layers of arches one behind the other.
I like the imagination of the monks of old. Rounds of prayers, silence, and work. Then to make matters worse, it must have been so damn cold in winter!

Yes Peter, one gets a real feeling in here of what it must have been like. Maybe a few stools and a big table. There was a fireplace but as you say must have been cold in Winter. As you say, the cut stone and workmanship speaks volumes. Not much built like this nowadays.
