I've got some indoor flowers too......
Jenny McIntyre8 comments109 visitsOn my kitchen window sill I have got three plants - two are flowering, the other one has decided to stop flowering this year. One of them is a gorgeous white rose which was given to me by Mandi as a Mother's Day pressie. For a few years it only gave me one bloom, then last year I had 3 blooms, but this year ...... I've got 7....... it's exceeded itself As you can see - it's a glorious creamy white. The problem with white is you can't really see the varying shades with… (read more)

I hope you enjoy it because I'm scared of spiders and I'm afrain I've been exactly the same. youtu.be/ruTB5jBGXsE
News from the coast
Mickey fez4 comments116 visits2A couple, of snippets On Wednesday I had visit from my daughtr Ellen and a pleasant two hours was spent catching up.I did mention in passing that neither my grandsn or son in law had painted some upstairs windowa as promised. I though no more about it but a couple of hours after she left I received a call from her pal Colin who said he would come and do it(a shopfitter,he had time between jobs to fit it in) Sure enough he was there on Thursday morning and all done and dusted in a couple of h… (read more)
Here comes the rain
Mickey fez10 comments320 visitsAfter yesterday's exertions I had decided today would be a rest day,no walks,no gardening just relaxing and thinking up a recipe for making a one dish wonder for dinner which I find very relaxing as I do with all cooking. Well all this is going to happen if I like it or nor. I awoke to wet streets and equally wet cats, they had obviously enjoyed a romp in the rain although it had stopped when I came down at 6:45. Fed and watered the cats shot off again and I fed the birds and had breakfast wat… (read more)
The wind dropped for a while this morning..
Jenny McIntyre6 comments148 visitsWell this morning dawned nice and sunny and the wind had died down. I was keen to see if the tulip had opened up......... Just a little - maybe it's waiting for more sun........... The little wind we had was so cold still. There might have been sun but there wasn't any heat in it......... Pippin nearly always joins me when I go out into the garden, but today I had two escorts. Boo decided to see what we two get up to. I think she realised that the wind had sort of died down and so she wo… (read more)
Poor Mandi has had a bad experience....
Jenny McIntyre11 comments297 visitsJust when Mandi was starting to feel better, Alfie one of her cats, disappeared. She was very worried as you can imagine - he would only explore around his house and gardens, so for him to disappear completely got her really worried. Mandi and Dogan had taken on these two gorgeous kitties when their mother, called Annie, was being chased etc from many rampant cats!!!! She ran away with the males after her, so Mandi and Dogan took the kittens indoors to care for them while their… (read more)
My two little helpers
Mickey fez4 comments136 visitsMorning rain stopped my early visit to Iceland and the Post office.I had to wait until 9:30 to use my pass. I got into town and the first stop was a very busy sub post office to send a couple of parcels, luckily the tills were all manned and I was only in there 15 minutes or so.Then across the road to Iceland which had not filled up yet so a quick whiz round collecting Christmas goodies and arranging delivery for around midday I cut through the little haven for home. There was a bus at the stop ju… (read more)
I'm getting a good tan this year........
Jenny McIntyre16 comments177 visitsAnother glorious day dawned - it's almost unheard of to get this amount of consecutive days of sunshine here in the UK LOL. Obviously Mandi loves the sun, and so if there's a trip out to the beach on offer, I'm there with bag in hand..... So I'm sorry if you are getting bored with my pictures of Instow all the time, but I do try and take different photos, so you don't get too fed up with me. The dogs were out in force again, well at the beginning anyway and so I tried to catch them in mi… (read more)
Whiskey has certainly got his paws under the table!!!!
Jenny McIntyre6 comments115 visits2Where Mandi lives in Turkey, is full of tourists in the summer, but then it's just the villagers at the rest of the time. Mandi and Dogan are well known for being cat friendly in the village, so someone decided to leave a tiny kitten for them!!!! It's little mews alerted Mandi and she had to look for him - eventually finding him all alone in the long grass. In case the mama cat was around, Mandi left him for a while but after 3 hours and no-one had come for him and he was getting weaker - Mandi… (read more)
first day out for the kitties and new specs for me
Mickey fez2 comments246 visitsAnother rainy day yesterday so of course I had to go out.I needed to pick my new goggles up and get some pipe fodder. I left the kitties creating mayhem and headed off. I scooted round not wanting to leave them for too long and when I returned they were sleeping. They woke up and looked all innocent a bad sign in cats. I had a look around for signs of damage and the only thing they had managed to wreck was the net curtain on the toilet window which was lying on the floor pole and all. Zazzles wi… (read more)
A visitor and work in the garden
Mickey fez3 comments179 visitsA nice sunny busy day. The day started out dull but soon the sun shone through. My son Stephen paid a visit this morning which was good,Zazzles made a fuss of him as usual with visitors. he stayed an hour or so and wandered off for lunch. After my lunch I decided to have a potter in the garden helped by two kitties. I found a small patch suitable for clearing and seeding some more wild flowers. I went to get my tools and when I returned I found the space occupied. I asked them nice… (read more)
Summers gone, messing with computer and Zazzles the clown
Mickey fez3 comments136 visitsToday the summer went away again and a dark and left a cold dark rainy day With this meaning I would be indoors a lot I decided to drag out and update my old computer I retreived from Ellen's X before he could abscond with it. The idea was to have it in the small spare bedroom and run it one day a week to keep things in order. That's all by the board now as there is not enough room to store it there much less set it up. The cables for it are in a box in the said room buried under mountains… (read more)
the sun breaks free, old computer stored again and Sooty relaxing
Mickey fez2 comments129 visitsAfter the dull heavy morning the afternoon improved with the sun winning it's battle and burning the clouds off. The humidity dropped to around 70% and the temps in my garden hovered around 80f a perfect day for a little outdoor reading and a glass of cold fruit cider followed my a choc-ice. The cats just lolled around looking for shade,no playing chase for them today. I tucked the old computer back under the table having given it a run out and downloaded the mass of updates waiting and did an… (read more)
Colour in a grey world
Mickey fez4 comments121 visitsAs promised the rain arrived this morning which made yesterday's grass cutting even more worthwhile. I can't help feeling a little smug at getting one over on the weather gods when this happens although they will have their revenge no doubt. I opened the back door as I always do when I come down,Zazzles was around, Sooty wasn't but he did leave me a gift on the doorstep,a little mouse stone dead with not a mark on it. I know it was Sooty's doing because Zazzles couldn't catch a dead one. S… (read more)
You're Fired
Bee Orchid8 comments205 visits1This week, the Ship’s Dog was fired. He was having a little nap in the sun, outside the back door which is a lovely little sun trap for him. I don’t mind him napping, however, next door’s cat was also napping in the sunshine, in my garden, on the decking nearby. I’d gone out to check on the laundry, and scared the cat, inadvertently, and she ran off to her own garden. So much for the guard dog! Truth be told, he likes cats and will try and get up close to them which of course most cats don’t app… (read more)
Pets or Pests
Bee Orchid7 comments135 visitsI have a dog. He’s quite a large dog and maybe just a little crazy in that he always seems to be hyper happy. He’s trained, though still gets deliriously excited when I come home, or if we have visitors. On one level I like his exuberance, though it can get tiresome. My youngest sister has 4 small dogs. Between them they weigh about half what my dog weighs, but I genuinely don’t know how she can stand to have 4 dogs around the place even though they’re well trained. She used to have a lizard… (read more)
A trip to mother's
Mickey fez5 comments121 visitsI went to see mother today. The weather was dry with a threat of rain so I flashed the pass and bused it. The old girl is in good fettle and she was very pleased when I gave her an electric paper shredder, she had been cutting all her mail up with scissors. She had no little jobs that wanted doing so we just sat and chatted catching up on each others news before I made the trek back home. I have to change buses and with a wait in between the trip takes an hour which is 10 minutes more than it use… (read more)
Our trip to Turkey - part 2
Jenny McIntyre10 comments176 visitsWell here's to more of my ramblings......... We had a wonderful time as I'm sure you've gathered by now, but living as a resident is sure different from staying at a hotel. You get to be normal - I mean how often do you go out for a meal every night, or go out for a drink - I certainly don't. In fact the only time I actually eat out at a restaurant is when I go on holiday and to be honest, I much prefer to eat at home, all relaxed and after all - it's a damn sight cheaper after all. So we h… (read more)
What eclipse eh................
Jenny McIntyre8 comments147 visits1Well today has come and almost gone, and it was supposed to be one to remember for a long time - an eclipse. I'd sorted out my camera and had got the calendar on my phone reminding me about the eclipse. The media has been banging on relentlessly about the fact that the next eclipse in the UK will be in 2090 and surprise, surprise - I won't be here, so that was why this would be a very special one. I was told that the eclipse would start around 8.30am and finish around 10.30. So I was all up a… (read more)
Photo updates (edited - 16th April 2025) ...
StoneRoad201338 comments2512 visits5Missed by only a few - 199,006 at 09:06 [GMT] on 16th April 2025. Many thanks for all your visits and interactions with my photostream ... Please Keep Safe - to everyone being subjected to natural environmental, health hazards and man-made warfare ! NOTE : Partial Solar Eclipse today [29thMarch ] and moving BST from Tomorrow [30th] ... GMT returned on 27th October 2024, with Samhain, bonfires and winter to follow ... Hopefully BST, and sunshine with dry & warmer weather cometh on Sunday, 30th March 2025 to Sunday 26th October 2025. Sadly we've lost Ben de-Dog, he crossed the bridge on Tuesday 4th June 2024, after collapsing following his morning constitutional around our garden. All of us are devastated - and that includes Beauty [our tripod cat]. However, we are now owned by a Collie, "Bella" came from a local working dogs rescue, She came to us as very shy & timid with a few problems. Bella has already learnt her new name, and has begun remembering her obedience skills. The start of metereological summer is 1st June 2024 ! Much better weather here in the last few days, with greater amounts of sunshine, much less cloud / rain, and therefore warmer temperatures. I am sure the local sheep and farmers appreciate the improvement, my garden certainly seems to do so - and I've needed to do several grass cutting sessions. NOTE : Now on BST from 02:00 on 31st March 2024 - so hopefully some sunshine and dry weather cometh ... GMT returns on 27th October 2024, with Samhain, bonfires and winter to follow ... Many Thanks for visiting ! as I really do appreciate all the various interactions with my images, especially the comments & favourites. I'm hoping to be more interactive with other people's images etc in 2024, as well as deal with most of my own image backlog in the next few months. Obviously, the newest albums have the least number of views - currently they are on page 12 of most viewed albums. I have been keeping up with my uploads, with various visits to places of interest featuring quite strongly but the vast majority are still "Private" as I have been busy in the garden and with a range of administration & other activities ... I have caught up with the last of the backdated items in the Cobid-19 album. Also, I am still working away with more of the various backdated images, and I have found some more "missing" images ... this has meant creating more new albums, for those that didn't fit into the existing albums; as well as adding titles, captions and keywords to the actual images. Final stage is unlocking them and adding some to groups. Mostly, I have "tagged" the albums I am working on with *New*,*updated*,*WiP* and *done* as needed, these will stay for a week or three, depending on the status. For my ease of access, I sometimes add the albums I am currently working with into my favourites, so the contents of the "favourite" banner on my album home page may get changed periodically. Currently, SRR have hree vehicles as two new jobs for 2022, their *NEW* albums appeared recently. Backdated coverage is for :- NSR23, MSR62 & 63, plus two ex-Corris vehicles now on the Talyllyn. Also, various "holiday snaps" and visits to places of interest & gala type events. I still have several hundred images to process, and a further backlog of images to upload ... Please stay safe and healthy - keep indoors or follow social distancing rules if you must make an essential trip outside. Wash hands or sanitise them frequently. Cover face - Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when required, please, for not only your own protection but also for others. Make Space ; Stay at least the minimum distances apart (for me, in the UK that is 2m) Ventilation - make sure there is plenty of fresh air That means there have been an average of 1,000 interactions with my photostream each month, so very many thanks to all the visitors and for all the comments and yellow stars. Apologies, all this has been delayed as I have been concentrating on my garden rebuilding project and writing tender documentation. Although I have been doing a lot more of my administration work at home since March 2020. Luckily, I have avoided catching the plague, so far.
