Where Mandi lives in Turkey, is full of tourists in the summer, but then it's just the villagers at the rest of the time. Mandi and Dogan are well known for being cat friendly in the village, so someone decided to leave a tiny kitten for them!!!! It's little mews alerted Mandi and she had to look for him - eventually finding him all alone in the long grass. In case the mama cat was around, Mandi left him for a while but after 3 hours and no-one had come for him and he was getting weaker - Mandi went and picked him up and made up a bed for him in the outside wardrobe they have to put wellies etc in.

She got him some milk and cat food and he ate them greedily - making her wonder how long he'd been left there. He was so tiny, only about 3-4 weeks old, way too young to be away from his mum. Well Mandi's other cats had a good sniff at him, even washing him, which was a good sign. I said to Mandi if they were going to keep him, they would have to do it pretty soon, while he is so small and no threat to the other cats.

This is a picture of Pasha and Roxy - they're still young cats themselves ...

Dogan said that they had enough cats, but agreed that it needed looking after, so he made a proper covered bed for him outside and even went out to the shop to get some chicken livers (yuck) for the cats. As the evenings are still warm, Mandi wasn't too worried about the kitten being outside all snuggled up in the bed.

The next day he was sitting there outside on the patio waiting for Mandi. She fed him again and the other cats started playing with him. That evening Dogan suggested the little kitten came in for an hour for some play!!!!

As you can see he's really tiny,,,,,

He was very crafty too - he decided to crawl up Dogan's shoulder on his own and promptly went to sleep!!!!

Well that was it....... Dogan was smitten and he said that they should name him and he came up with Whiskey. After calling him a couple of times, the kitten ran to him whenever he was called!! Ah bless.

The next day the kitten was playing with the other two larger cats..

He went for a cuddle with Pasha, who readily obliged.....

Then he went to Roxy for a snuggle and Roxy allowed him to crawl on his back and eventually slip down to his side..

When Dogan came home last night, he was tired from the early start and fell asleep on the couch. Mandi couldn't resist taking these pictures....

Isn't this precious? Dogan didn't know the kitten was fascinated by his hair. I knew as soon as he'd named the kitten he was lost and the kitten had a new family!!!!!

It's getting colder now - even though it's apparently mild for the time of year. I can honestly see me having to light the coal fire, but it's not cold in the mornings, so it's not cost effective to light one in the afternoon!!!

Have a lovely weekend folks - and I hope your weather is good to you....
