Gone fishin'
This jetty seemed the perfect place to be "gone fishin" at sunset on a pleasant afternoon.
A flying dragon?
I was fortunate to catch this dragonfly in our local Botanic Gardens. I gather it is known as an " Australian Emerald Dragonfly" (Hemicordulia australiae). Best viewed large.

Sewing kit
For "Macro Mondays" group 13 March 2023. Topic #300, "Sewing".
Two years ago my lovely wife passed away. She was passionate about her sewing and hand sewed and embroidered this ornamented set of holders for her travelling sewing kit items (wider view in the PiP).
Bayside bench
Another bench, thhis one nearer the car park, in the recently redeveloped Observation Point Lookout with views over our local bay.
Wishing everyone good weather to get out and enjoy your benches, on a Happy Bench Monday.
Nelligen Bridge
The bridge at Nelligen, suffering from concrete rot and being replaced by a new bridge - seen under construction in the background (view large to see better). The new bridge has now come into operation and the old bridge is under demolition.
LATE ADDITIONAL NOTE: Unfortunately the road layout meant that there was no better access to show the development of the new bridge, structurally near complete.
Another week gone and it's time to wish everyone a Happy Fence Friday and a great weekend.
Sad landscape
Some 45 years ago, we often travelled down this road, then unsealed and with few vehicles, through beautiful native eucalypt forests. I took a photo of my son at about the location of the main image and, some years later, my daughter painted a copy of it (PiP). View main image large.
I recently returned along the road for the first time in years. It had been sealed for the use of logging trucks and I was appalled at what has been done by the forestry industry. Not only have vast areas been clear-felled, but they are being replaced by forests of non-native pines (the dark areas in the background). These are totally unsuited to the natural biota of the area.
Lookout bench
Last Friday I posted an image of the view from the new lookout recently opened by our local council. The good news is that it also contains this bench (see also another view in the PiP).
Best wishes for the coming week, everyone, and Happy Bench Monday to all.

'Sharben' sets sail
Fishing boat heading to the ocean from Lakes Entrance for a night's fishing. View large.
New lookout
Our local council has only recently finished this new viewing platform on a headland, looking across Batemans Bay, with Snapper Island in the middle distance.
Happy Fence Friday and have a great weekend, everyone.
