Life on a House Brick (+PiPs)

Life on a House Brick (+PiPs)
I spotted this old house brick on top of a storage bin in my garden and saw the tiny pieces of moss growing on it (only a few millimetres tall). Some pieces had spider's webs too, which I didn't notice until I got the photos on my computer.

I took the brick indoors and took several photos. I had to be quick before my wife realised what I was doing on the table top (to be fair, the brick was a bit dirty). :-)))

There are three more views in the PiPs, if you have time to look. Thank you.

Patrick Brandy, Paolo Tanino, * ઇଓ *, Fred Fouarge and 15 other people have particularly liked this photo

Ha, ha.........glad you approve of my methods Güni...........and that you also like the results. It's fascinating what you can see through a macro lens, and even better if you can capture it. Thank you so much.

je suppose que c'est ton "jardin secret ". (Je ne sais pas comment celà se traduit en Anglais) En tout cas, c'est une trés bonne idée.

Thanks Wilhelm.............glad you like these shots.

It makes sense to take stuff indoors when the weather is not suitable outside at this time of year!

Thank you Isabel.............it was very convenient for me that nature chose to help out by creating this small world on a brick I could carry indoors to photograph :-))

Gotcha'.. on your story Keith,..Ha' ha'.. I can visualise the wifes' face at the sight of you photographing,. a 'brick' !.... in the event though,. there was a reason :-)
I had an old sealed plastic bag of sand ,. when I eventually cut it open there was greenery all across the top of the sand contents.. it's amazing how it starts off..// Cheers from Dj.

Yes, I was lucky enough to get the photos done and the brick back into the garden (and I even remembered to clean up the table) before she realised what I had been doing..!!

I think in the case of your sand, it probably had seeds inside to start with............but it takes a lot to hold back nature!
