Little Egret

Spotted this beautiful bird perching in a tree above the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. This is a popular spot for Egrets, there is nearly always some there. You need a long lens though as they're some distance away. I took this at the very limit of my 100-400 zoom lens and still needed to crop the image.

I'm currently working my way through a book of Evening Standard Cryptic crosswords. I try to do two or three a week................makes my brain hurt sometime :-))
Wünsche noch einen schönen Abend, ganz liebe Grüße Güni :))
There are numerous Egrets, Heron and other bird that regularly visit this mill pond, but their roosts are just out of reach of my longest lens which is very frustrating. There is no way to get closer as it is a protected nature reserve.
