The Dark Satanic Mill
Taken just before dusk at the Old Mill, Langstone Harbour, Hampshire.

I'm not a religious person, but I remembered the phrase "dark satanic mills" from school and seeing this mill silhouetted against the sky reminded me of it. Once I had the photo it just needed a tweak or two in post processing to get it the way I wanted it. I hope you like it.

Ooh, good title Keith! I love the red glow from the windows! The colour of the sky is gorgeous and I like the cockerel just getting in the picture. We have both gone for the silhouette theme for today's pictures :) Have a good evening.

No, its not that dark and satanic at all -well not compared with our 'real dark and satanic mills' that we have up here in Lanky. Nevertheless, a great capture taken with feeling I am sure my friend. I rather like that painted sky look too. Well done.

Thanks Herb..............glad you like it even though it's not a "real" satanic mill :-) I was initially going to make a black and white silhouette, but after playing around with it I decided this suited it better.
