Ah, I see that you too was tempted to remember the day with your camera. As Andy says, we of our generation at least will always have such people in our hearts.

Maybe a more muted remembrance day isn't a bad thing, the weather seems to cooperate as well.

You could be right........................I don't usually go to the public stuff anyway, there's far too much religious stuff involved. I just pay my own personal respects on the day. I understand that a lot of people find comfort in the public events though and that's OK too. Just not for me.

Die Remembrance Poppies schmücken das Denkmal sehr schön. Die fast blattlose Weide wirkt wie ein Wächter über das Denkmal. Die alte Kirche und das trübe Wetter tragen zur Trauerstimmung bei. Der Volkstrauertag in Deutschland ist am 15. November.

It's good to remember the fallen..............but still wars continue all over the world. We never seem to learn :-(
