Remembrance Day - Lest We Forget

Sadly, due to the Coronavirus, this years commemorations were, in the most part, cancelled. This morning we stood at our front door for the two minutes silence and then had a walk to Havant Town Centre to look at the War Memorial.

You could be right........................I don't usually go to the public stuff anyway, there's far too much religious stuff involved. I just pay my own personal respects on the day. I understand that a lot of people find comfort in the public events though and that's OK too. Just not for me.

Erinnerung an eine schwere Zeit.
Die Remembrance Poppies schmücken das Denkmal sehr schön. Die fast blattlose Weide wirkt wie ein Wächter über das Denkmal. Die alte Kirche und das trübe Wetter tragen zur Trauerstimmung bei. Der Volkstrauertag in Deutschland ist am 15. November.

It's good to remember the fallen..............but still wars continue all over the world. We never seem to learn :-(
