Mother Nature, I love your humor/humour.

After spending the last week trying to find even one bird to photograph for "The Sunday Challenge" (and finally having to go to the local pet shop for my photo) opportunity flew in and landed in a tree right in front of me today. This pretty "Northern Flicker" stayed long enough for me to get this shot just in the "nick of time." (A little sarcasm here. ;)

Bonnie Raitt from her "Nick of Time" album (1989) (Might be a first entry to SaS of this fantastic artist, not sure... Mick, Roger?)

A gem! Adore that out-of-focus backdrop. A beautiful and superbly detailed shot. Love the catch-light in the eye. An ace musical match and then some. I'm pretty sure we haven't had a link to Bonnie's music until now :-) Yes, "a true artist in every respect". Believe it or not, some time back I was working on using Bonnie's version of "Angel from Montgomery" but I couldn't find a photo of an 'Angel'. So, next time you are in Aylesbury perhaps you could stop by for a photo-shoot :-) Thanks very much for posting to 'Sight and Sound', Karen.

It's funny, but once again we've both had the same idea. I didn't have an angel on hand either lol That is such a good song and the song that made me fall in love with her. Sooner or later we should do it. It would be a great addition to our group. :)

Yes, we should :-) I am thinking there ought to be some angel memorials in local churchyards and I will be checking out one such churchyard on my next visit to Oxford :-)

A fabulous capture Karen, - lovely sharp details and I love the background, - a beautiful effect. I love this - it is up there with the best. Great track and a great singer. 'Goin' Wild For You Baby' and 'Angel from Montgomery' are probably my two favourites but anything by Bonnie Raitt is good by me
