this photo by John FitzGerald

Joe. Son of the Rock, has been posting photos he took on the same day in other years, and that seemed to me like a good way to review one's older photos, so I have started copying him...uh, following his example. Thanks for the idea, Joe.

Joe actually provides views that can be compared with the current one. I'll try to do that, but I was struck by this one and couldn't resist posting it.

Thanks, Bob. I suspect the projecting wire interested me -- this may yet be another photo of mine influenced by unconscious memories of Gary Lee-Nova's Menthol Filter Kings :

I also suspect that its not engaging well may be not only something that got me to take the picture but also what got me to like Lee-Nova's painting. I like mysterious pictures and pictures that fight the eyes. You've given me an inspiration for furious thinking, so thans again.

And maybe that's also one of the reasons it's difficult to engage, as Bob notes above. You've given me even more to think furiously about, George. Thanks.

That's a cool idea. I'd do it if I had time on my hand ....

Actually, I suspect the only garbage can thieves are raccoons, and a Toronto raccoon would make quick work of this. Probably take the can home with them.
