Freud's hold on the public mind is amazing. As is his hold on the minds of psychiatrists. As most psychologists will tell you, his ideas are non-explanatory. He's old hat. An old and mouldy hat. Well, maybe some of those who stayed in the American Psychological Association when it broke up are still pushing him.
