Maen Vag

The Maen Vag is a granite barge, carved from a 35-ton block by sculptor Jean-Yves Menez. The unique feature of this granite sculpture is that it floats. It has been launched more than fifteen times, carrying passengers.
On the occasion of the reopening of the Canal Saint-Martin on April 10, 2016, Parisians were able to witness its launching. The work is now on display in the forecourt of Dol-de-Bretagne Cathedral, where it illustrates the legend of Saint Samson, who is said to have arrived in Dol in the 6th century in a "stone trough."
