"Roc au Chien", piton rocheux surplombant la ville

La légende raconte qu’un enfant imprudent jouant trop près du bord serait tombé dans une crevasse. Son chien l’aurait suivi, et grâce à ses aboiements, on aurait pu retrouver l’enfant et le sauver. A la mort du chien, en souvenir et par reconnaissance, on aurait enterré le chien sur place et appelé l’endroit le "roc au chien".

An arrière plan on distingue la Résidence du Lac, autrefois le "Grand Hôtel" (1898), le premier hôtel de luxe de Bagnoles de l'Orne.
