Since the 10th century, the Puy is one of the starting points of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The crowds of pilgrims come to venerate the famous Black Madonna of Puy.

Pilgrims starting their journey to Santiago de Compostela gather to be blessed each morning in the cathedral.

Ja, war ich, einen Tag lang ;-) Von hier aus startet der Jakobsweg, jeden Morgen werden die Pilgerer in der Kathedrale gesegnet. Sie haben's sicher nötig : 1300 km bis nach Santiago de Compostela !!

Danke Hubs, so habe ich die Erklärung nicht gar nicht gesehen ;-) Ansonsten ist es eine interessante Stadt, hier sammeln sich alle Pilger, um ihren weiten Weg nach Santiago de Compostela zu beginnen...
