Hedgerow HFF!

Taken at Watchet., West Somerset.

Beyond the fence lies Watchet railway station. In 1862 this was the terminus for the West Somerset Railway line and it is the longest Heritage Railway in England.

The harbour town of Watchet is over 1000 years old and the harbour is now a marina.

I have no idea what the hedgerow flower is but I thought it was pretty.

I would say this is a splendide agapanthus. Some species of agapanthus are commonly known as African lily, however, they are not lilies but from the family amaryllidaceae. HFF Carol and a nice weekend.

A gorgeous floral image Christa is correct it's an Agapanthus there are white ones but blue is more usual. I seem to remember years another was talk of extending the railway into Taunton ? I hope you have had a a HFF Carol and that your weekend is a nice one

Yes you are correct. First Great Western started to run a shuttle service from Bishops Lydeard to Taunton last year, but I believe it is on Saturdays only.
