Aanstaande week valt de equinox en wel op 20 september om 23.58 Nederlandse tijd. Dit is het etmaal dat precies verdeeld is in twee helften, de ene helft is dag, de andere helft nacht. Dit is ook het moment dat de astronomische herfst begint (de meteorologische herfst begint op 1 september).

On the photo different halves: half of a vinyl record, half of its cover, half of a CD and half of its booklet. All from the album ‘Equinoxe’ by Jean-Michel Jarre from 1978.
Next week it is one of the two equinoxes each year and that is this year on 20 September at 21.58 UTC. This day the calendar day is divided in two the same halves of 12 hours each: one half is day and the other half is night. This is also the moment the astronomical autumn begins (the meteorological autumn started on 1 September).
