Vervorming - Distortion

Detail van het Nationaal monument slavernijverleden in het Oosterpark in Amsterdam. Twee mensen, geketend tot slavernij, hun gezichten vervormd.
De foto is genomen met een ‘Dutch tilt’, Links van de linker figuur is dat te zien in de achtergrond. Ook staan de figuren in werkelijkheid voorover gebogen. Dutch tilt wordt in fotografie of in cinema gebruikt om aan te geven dat er iets vreemds of ongemakkelijks aan de hand is.

I took the photo with a ‘Dutch angle’ or ‘Dutch tilt’, left of the left figure you can see that in the background. Also these figures are in reality bent forward by their chaines. Both in photography and in cinema ‘Dutch tilt’ is being used to indicatie something strange or unsettling is going on.
