It usually takes me a while to catch-up on news :-)
Probably, most everyone already knows that the Google Nik Software Suite is now free to download :-) I found out this news t'other day and it came as a very big and very pleasant surprise :-)
I understand that the software suite was originally priced at around $500 but when, in 2012, Google bought it the price dropped to around $150. In a move on 24 March 2016 that surprised the photo industry Google went a step further and made the entire suite free of charge!!
Needless to say I have now downloaded the suite :-)
For this Oxford shot I have used the 'Monday Morning' filter. Hence my tenuous link to "Monday Monday", one of my fave Mamas & Papas tracks. I love this cover version by Foxes & Fossils :-)

A very long time ago I took this candid in Oxford. I reckon the lady was visiting the city and texting her boyfriend back home saying "Keep Me In Your Heart" :-)
“Keep Me In Your Heart” was written by Warren Zevon and Jorge Calderón. It is the final song on Warren's final album entitled “The Wind”. Warren began recording the album shortly after he was diagnosed with inoperable pleural mesothelioma (a cancer of the lining of the lung) and it was released just two weeks before his death on September 7, 2003.

This structure is on Dunstable Downs and nearby there is an explanation :-)
“Is it a sculpture? A crashed spaceship? Something the builders left behind?
No, it's a wind-catcher – part of our ventilation system.
Fresh air goes in through the long vertical vents on each side. It travels through an underground pipe into the Visitor Centre. In summer, this cools the air so the building doesn't need electric fans or air conditioning. In winter, it warms the air slightly so that our wood-chip boiler doesn't have to work so hard to heat the building.”
Which, of course, leads to “Hasten Down The Wind” written by Warren Zevon :-)
