"The Dutchman"

This shot was taken in Amsterdam a very long time ago. I think this could have been in Vondelpark but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyway, there is a guy fishing and I'm guessing he is a Dutchman :-) That, of course, leads to "The Dutchman" written by Chicago-based singer/songwriter Michael Peter Smith. The song has nowt to do with fishing but it is about a Dutchman :-)
Extract from Wikipedia -
"Rolling Stone Magazine once called Michael Peter Smith...The greatest songwriter in the English language. He has been singing and composing since the 1960s and his rich and challenging songs have been recorded by more than 30 performers. He is best known for writing "The Dutchman" popularized by Steve Goodman and also recorded by Suzy Bogguss, Celtic Thunder, Liam Clancy, Norm Hacking, Anne Hills, Mara Levine and Si Khan, John McDermott, the New Kingston Trio, Gamble Rogers, Tom Russell, Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert James Waller, Josh White Jr. and Bernard Wrigley."
I think this is an absolute classic song and it is one of my absolute all-time fave songs. My fave version is by Steve Goodman :-)
Two versions follow.....one from Steve's 1972 album "Somebody Else's Troubles" and a live version (possibly from 'Austin City Limits') with Jethro Burns on mandolin.
