The Disliked Paper Dolls

I never played with these paper dolls - in fact I actively disliked everything about them - from their simpering faces to their frumpy clothes.
My older cousin Pat gave them to me when I was probably 5 or 6 and I held on to them grudgingly for years - not able to throw them out ( I couldn't quite do that since I believed, on some level, they were alive) but never, ever playing with them.
And you know - they still look just as hopelessly uncool and gormless to me, today.
Freda, sister of Fred, is missing but, trust me, she was just as annoyingly unappealing.
