Leytonstone Hospital Fundraiser, 1974 #1

Taken by Joanne.
Me, proudly showing off my rummage sale velvet hat, and Kate, being a good sport.
I've been told by friends and relatives since then, that my friend Joanne and I (visiting from the States,) were seen as fun but quite eccentric.
We would have been very surprised if we had known that. Not offended, just puzzled. We seemed normal to us.
Even though I was English, I suppose I'd been gone long enough at this time to have more American in me than I knew. : )
