Teeny Tiny

This tintype is 1 and 1/4 inches by 7/8ths of an inch - definitely the smallest one I own. The frame is made of what looks like pressed copper or colored tin.
I would be very interested in hearing what people think of the date on this. Does 1860s seem too early for it?
Even though it's tiny, it's clear enough to see the sweetness of this little child's expression and the pinked up cheeks.
I'm pretty sure I got this in Ferrisburgh, Vermont.
