life in the park - HBM!

Piazza Indipendenza, around noon. Some seek the shade for their lunch break, some nap in the sun, And some others share the bread crumbs from some half eaten panino ... :)
Have a nice week ahead, everyone!

Le Monsieur qui dort au soleil m'intrigue un peu, avec son sac a coté.
Ça se voit qu'il est fatigué et peut être même qu'il a faim.
HBM et bon weekend.
Great image, Annalia
HBM also to you!
HBM e buona settimana !
Masks are not visible because, in the little street photography I do, I try to make sure to protect people's identities and either shoot them from behind, in silhouette or from far enough that details are not discernible. But almost everyone was wearing a mask. Our mask mandate has not been lifted and we still have curfew at 23:00. Tuscany is still far from having vaccinated its work age population and all these measures are therefore still necessary.
African migrants (here they are mostly from Senegal) do, unfortunately, often lead tough lives, facing poverty and even hunger sometimes, but Florence has a strong Senegalese community that takes care of its own and I don't know a single African person who is homeless or actually starving. Also, many by now are well integrated and have regular steady jobs (I have a friend from Senegal who is a baker, two that are nurses and one who works for a whitewasher, for example). The man that is leaning his head on his arm could have been napping or shading his eyes so he could check his mobile phone (I chose to imagine he was napping because I am fascinated by the ability of many Africans to do so even in the full glare of the sun. Like Judite, I could never do that!). For all I know, he might be a foreign student from the nearby student housing. But yes, he could also be a migrant saddened by an unsuccessful application for his "permesso di soggiorno" at the police station, which is also nearby.
Pigeons, of course, can dispense with curfew, masks and social distancing, and they don't need a stay permit from the police :)
Have a great week!
A very nice picture, with so many things to look at, including a big flock of pigeons ( I think!)
Best Wishes, HBM, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!
Peter
